Responsibilities:
- Process patient invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to billing guidelines and regulations.
- Verify insurance information, including eligibility, coverage, and pre-authorizations for medical services.
- Submit insurance claims electronically or via mail, following up on any rejected or denied claims.
- Resolve billing discrepancies and insurance inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding guidelines, including ICD-10 and CPT coding systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve billing issues and ensure timely reimbursement.
- Generate billing reports and maintain accurate records of financial transactions and account balances.
- Assist patients with billing inquiries, payment plans, and financial assistance programs as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in medical billing or healthcare finance role is advantageous.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical coding systems (ICD-10, CPT) and insurance billing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial transactions.
